About:

Regina I. Agoruah is an interdisciplinary artist and filmmaker from Atlanta, GA, whose work is deeply rooted in storytelling, movement, and cultural identity. Her artistic journey began in 2011 after discovering film photography and mixed media, an experience that ignited an insatiable passion for visual storytelling. Since then, she has dedicated herself to capturing narratives that challenge perspectives and celebrate resilience.

Regina’s creative vision has been profoundly shaped by her travels across Asia, where she immersed herself in diverse cultures and honed her craft as a visual storyteller. Experiencing life through the lens of different traditions and artistic expressions expanded her understanding of perspective, composition, and the emotional depth that imagery can convey. This global influence is evident in her filmmaking style, which blends intimate, character-driven storytelling with striking, evocative visuals.

Currently pursuing her MFA at Howard University in Washington, D.C., Regina brings a unique voice to the world of documentary filmmaking. Her work seeks to amplify underrepresented stories, shedding light on narratives of resilience, identity, and cultural legacy. As a Black woman and filmmaker, she is deeply connected to the power of storytelling as a means of preservation and empowerment. With a profound respect for heritage and an eye for the unspoken moments that define human strength, Regina is committed to ensuring that these voices are seen, heard, and celebrated.
